Fellowships

There is a wide array of external predoctoral science fellowship funds (i.e., from non-Harvard funding sources) available to DMS PhDs. These non-Harvard resources can be used to help support--or even augment--the University's financial aid package, and we encourage you to look them over.  Harvard Griffin GSAS maintains an extensive Carat Database of fellowships and we have also curated a list of fellowships that are most relevant to DMS students below.

All DMS students wishing to apply for an NIH F31 Fellowship must do so through Alex Shimada-Brand in DMS, not through the hospitals or HMS departments. To schedule your individual fellowship counseling session, please contact him at ashimada@hms.harvard.edu

Workshops and Resources

A list of fellowship and grant writing workshops and resources can be found on the Career & Professional Development Navigator website.
