My research revolves around the following: Genetics of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE): In collaboration with Dr. Patricia Fraser and Karen Costenbader (Dept. of Medicine/Div. of Rheumatology BWH); we are continuing to explore the role of antibodies to acute phase reactants such as C-reactive protein (CRP) and tissue necrosis factor (TNF) as well as to citrullinated proteins (e.g. CCP) in patients with SLE, rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and related rheumatic and immune disorders; as well as the continued collaboration with Dr Shah Khoshbin (Dept Neurology, BWH) on Neuropsychiatric aspects of SLE; in collaboration with Dr E Massarotti (Rheumatology BWH) we are performing therapeutic trials of new medications for the treatment of SLE.
